Grosse Ile Township Schools have a long and successful history of educating the whole child. Naturally, the core of this education rests on our commitment to provide a solid academic foundation. Grosse Ile’s students routinely perform well above state and local averages and are selected to attend our state and nation's finest colleges and universities.
In addition to being able to provide this excellent foundation, parents, teachers and the community at large, value and support the many learning opportunities Grosse lIe students are afforded beyond the core academics. The Grosse Ile community believes that experiences in art, music, physical education and extra-curricular activities provide the well-balanced educational experience our students need in order to be successful citizens of tomorrow.
The district offers opportunities that challenge varying degrees of student learning needs (Spectrum for Academically Gifted Education (SAGE) and Gifted And Talented Education (GATES) programs), a World Language Program (beginning at Third Grade), numerous AP classes, extensive art, instrumental and vocal music choices and a wide variety of athletic activities at all levels, opportunities for independent study through travel, summer study opportunities and a rapidly emerging state-of-the-art technology program.
From the first day of the educational journey in elementary school until the last as they exit our high school hallways, it is the goal of Grosse Ile Township Schools to assure that all of our students are experiencing excellence every step of the way. To this end, we are committed to continuing to give all of our students the gift of high expectation while maintaining our promise to provide an exceptional and excellent learning environment.
VISION FOR THE FUTURE:
an exceptional educational experience, embracing student achievement, academic leadership and global citizenship, supported by an invested island community and a culture and environment for learning.
