Grosse Ile is located approximately 25 miles south of Detroit. It is nestled in the Detroit River near the mouth of Lake Erie, viewing Canada to its east and the towns of Trenton, Riverview and Wyandotte to its west.

• Wayne County's "Free Bridge" connects from Trenton.

• The Grosse Ile "Toll Bridge" connects 3 miles farther north in Riverview, just south of Wyandotte.
