SCHOOL DISTRICT FACILITIES

Thanks to our community's continued financial support, Grosse Ile Township Schools has up-to-date buildings and grounds located on about 100 acres of land that was donated by the community. Meridian Elementary and Parke Lane Elementary were both significantly renovated in 1999, a new Middle School was built in 2000, and the High School is currently completing an $11 million improvement. All of the buildings offer a wide range of opportunities for our students and the community.

• Meridian Elementary has a media center, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a walking path, and a fully equipped playground area.
• Parke Lane Elementary has a media center, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a walking path, and a fully equipped playground area.
• The Middle School has a media center, two large multi-purpose gymnasiums, an exercise complex that encourages individualized exercise plans, and an auditeria that accommodates 450. On the grounds are a regulation size soccer field, a soccer practice field, and several softball fields.
• The High School has a media center, a large multi-purpose gymnasium, an art studio, a music complex, weight room, and an auditorium that seats 750. Located on the grounds are a football stadium with a track used by our athletes and the community, a football/lacrosse practice field, a baseball diamond, several softball fields, eight tennis courts with a gazebo, and a bike path connecting the Middle School and High School.

These facilities are supplemented by community based golf courses, a country club pool, a tennis center, an Island-wide bike path, an Island equestrian center, and multiple sailing and crew venues at multiple boat clubs.
