PAM RIEGER

SPECIAL EDUCATION 6-8
GROSSE ILE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ms. Pam Rieger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Grand Valley.  Her majors included Special Education - Cognitively Impaired and Learning Disabled K-12 and General Education - K- 8; all subjects.

She earned a Masters of Arts in Special Education from the University of Michigan - Dearborn.

Her professional experience includes Branch County Intermediate School District and Grosse Ile Township Schools. Her teaching experience is a total of 23 years dedicated to the teaching of students. Seventeen of these years devoted to Grosse Ile students with special needs.

During her career at Grosse Ile, Ms. Rieger was fortunate enough to have been awarded Teacher of the Year.  Recipients of this award are honored by their colleagues and is quite an honor to receive.

Ms. Rieger has been involved in numerous extracurricular activities.  She has been the co-advisor of the Grosse Ile Middle School Builder's Club since its inception, school improvement team co-chair, a chaperone on sixteen Washington, D.C. trips, a mentor for new teachers and a chaperone at all dances and after school activities. In 2011, Grosse Ile Middle School initiated a homework club. Ms. Rieger has played an instrumental role in its success.

Ms. Rieger is a strong advocate for all students, and enjoys each and every day with kids!  She especially enjoys the "never a dull moment" attitude of the middle school experience and the daily lessons learned from her students.
