With the new world language requirement in Michigan, teaching a world language has never been so important. Ms. Guardiola was an active participant and worked very hard on the world language committee to bring a K-12 Spanish program. She attended many workshops and conferences on how to create and maintain such a program. This year, the goal of offering a grades 3-12 program was realized, and will continue to be an important aspect of her career.
She has been engaged many other activities during her teaching career. She is the Student Activities Advisor at Grosse Middle School where she has organized school wide talent shows, spirit weeks, morale raffles, teacher appreciation week activities, and many other activities to boost enthusiasm and spirit throughout the entire school body. She has been a participant on several Washington D.C. trips, and is currently the fundraising chair for that event. She has chaperoned school dances, participated in after school activities, and attends sporting events after school to show her support for her school and students.
Ms. Guardiola has enjoyed her career fully. She loves to interact with students, parents, and community members. She believes that teaching is not just lecture and tests, but rewarding and fulfilling.
