MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Grosse Ile Township Schools, in cooperation with students, parents, and community, is to teach the knowledge, skills, and behavior necessary for every student to lead a successful life.

•  GIHS serves about 675 students in a safe, orderly, and successful school

•  Top scorer in all five subjects,Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Writing.  No school district in Michigan has out performed Grosse Ile in both of the last two years.

• ACT scores are among top MI districts and improving in every subject

•  Many online course and dual enrollment opportunities

• Graduation rate: 96%

• More students taking more AP tests than ever (298 tests taken in 2011)

• 10 AP courses; 3 world languages (Spanish, French, German)

• Access to 26 Vocational and Technical programs through DCTC

• 96% of graduates go to college; many  to "Top 100" universities

• 2012 seniors awarded scholarships worth 3.1 million dollars

• GIHS hosts foreign exchange students from around the world
