SAT or ACT
Which one is right for you?
As many as a third of the students who take the SAT would actually do better on the ACT.  Since any school that requires standardized test scores will accept either the SAT or the ACT, students should keep an open-mind about what has hitherto oftentimes been the red-headed stepchild of College Admissions criteria.   So, how do you nudge them in the right direction?  The differences in content on the two tests allow for some generalizations:

Students who do better on the SAT typically…

Students who do better on the ACT typically…
enjoy brain teasers or riddlesenjoy science, economics, or debate
don't have to study to pass testswork hard in school to earn good grades
are "street smart"are "book smart"
are good at reading between the linesare good writers
have a good eye for detailare better at reading for general idea

Another way for students to determine which test is right for them is to jump right in!  The Princeton Review offers a full-length practice ACT and SAT.
