Ms. Muñoz received a Bachelor's in Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. GO BLUE!!  Her teaching certification is in elementary K-8. She started her career as a SAFE (Student Assistant & Family Education) Specialist in the Woodhaven School District where she worked at Yake Elementary School from 1995-2000. During this time, she helped students who were at risk academically, socially and emotionally by providing small group and individual instruction. The program included an after school study group as well as parent enrichment component which offered various parent education topics through evening workshops. The Woodhaven School District provided a solid foundation for learning and growth in the counseling profession.

In 2002, Ms. Muñoz changed districts to become a counselor at the Grosse Ile Middle School in the community where she resides with her family. She received a Masters Degree in Education from Wayne State University with a specialization in School Counseling K-12 and a license as a professional counselor. In addition to formal education classes, Ms. Muñoz completed a year long program and internship in the Aspiring Principals Academy through Wayne County RESA (Regional Educational Service Agency). She is currently pursuing a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership K-12 through Eastern Michigan University. Personal interests include: parenting 4 kids, boating, health & fitness, and photography!
