More than one million children each year are affected by divorce. More than one million children, by age 15, will have a parent die. Well over one million participants have experienced the benefits of Rainbows. Rainbows is an international, not-for profit organization that provides a healthy path toward healing to those grieving a loss or life-altering crisis. For more than 20 years, the power of its programming has helped children, adolescents, and adults cope with the emotional pain of divorce, separation, death and other loss.
The core of Rainbows is centered on trust, acceptance and sharing. Rainbows is a well-organized peer support group designed children and adolescents who are trying to adjust to living a single-parent household, in a stepfamily or to any change in their family life.
The program is under the guidance of well-trained, caring adults who serve as facilitators and is designed to help participants learn to better understand and express their feelings as they begin to move toward emotional healing.
