The MiStar lunch account debit system is available for all students. This system is a prepayment system, not a charge system, for purchases in the cafeteria. Here's how it works:
1. Decide how much money you would like to put into an account for each of your children based on the lunch prices and send a deposit to school.
2. Deposits sent to the elementary schools (check made out to Grosse ile School Cafeteria) should be placed in an envelope labeled "Lunch Payment" and include the students name. These deposits will be collected by the teacher at the beginning of the day and deposited into the accounts before lunch. At the secondary schools, students give the deposits directly to the cashier as they go through the lunch line. One check for the entire family can be sent to any one of the schools with directions on how to distribute the money to the accounts.
3. Student I.D. cards are scanned to bring up the lunch account and the daily purchases are posted to the account.
4. Reminder calls are sent out weekly to inform parents about negative balances.
