Grosse Ile High School recently hosted Opportunity Night on February 4, welcoming current 8th-grade families and high school families for an evening focused on exploring the many opportunities available to our students. It was a great night filled with connection, conversation, and excitement about the future.
Families had the chance to learn more about the wide range of academic pathways offered at GIHS, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Dual Enrollment with local colleges, and the Direct College partnership with the University of Michigan–Dearborn, which allows students to earn college credit right here at GIHS.
Guests also explored hands-on career pathways through DCTC programs such as Health Careers, Dental Occupations, Culinary Arts, and many others that help students prepare for both college and careers.
Beyond academics, Opportunity Night showcased the strong sense of community that defines GIHS. Our clubs, athletics, student leadership programs, and extracurricular activities continue to create connection, school spirit, and meaningful opportunities for students to grow both inside and outside the classroom.
Thank you to all the staff, students, and families who helped make the evening such a success. Events like Opportunity Night remind us how much there is to celebrate at GIHS and how committed our community is to supporting every student’s success.
