Innovation and Entrepreneurship students have been competing in various build challenges.  This week’s was “Float a Boat” where students constructed boats/rafts out of various materials to compete for buoyancy.

Congratulations to our bonus 'Pizza with the Principal' Winners for May! Thank you to PAT for providing us with the pizza each month to have this great incentive for our students!

What a day we had with our GIEF 'Principal of the day' winner Charley Lesko! She started off the day twinning with Ms. Garza, danced through arrival, went to every class with music, had a duck hunt for the staff and finished the morning with giving an extra recess for each class. Charley then had pizza with the principal, music and dancing at lunch and trivia for both Meridian and Parke Lane. She finished the day passing out candy to students. Today was also hat day for everyone! Great job Principal Charley!

Last night, our 5th graders from Meridian graduated from the DARE program, where they are taught good decision making skills for healthy and safe lives by Officer Canterbury of the GIPD. Among the things they learned were refusal skills, communication skills and positive things they can do in their school and community. We are grateful for the time and effort he puts into helping our students. Our DARE essay winners did a wonderful job reading their winning essays to everyone. Congratulations to all of our DARE graduates!

MERIDIAN 5TH GRADE - DON'T FORGET TOMORROW IS THE DARE GRADUATION!

MERIDIAN - Almost 1 full box! Keep the boxes coming! All this week (it was extended) the Middle School, Parke Lane and Meridian Elementary Schools will be collecting boxes of cereal. Builders Club at the Middle School has partnered with Gleaners and the Children's Hospital of Michigan to collect boxes of cereal for children in need throughout the summer. This will ensure that no child in Southeast Michigan will go hungry while school is out for the Summer. There are collection boxes in each of the three schools. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank You so much for supporting this great cause.
